Two Shall Become One …The Chronicle
For
no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and
cherishes it, even as the Lord the church: For we are
members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For
this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and
shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one
flesh. (Eph 5:29-31 KJV)
We
generally relate “Two shall become one” to the wedding
vows. However as I created this piece, I was picturing a
multitude of symbolisms. One was the heart cry of Jesus in
His prayer to the Father –“may they become one as we are
one”? I have always perceived a number of hidden meanings
in this request in John 17:11. “May they individually
become one with us as We are one”? “May they (a group)
become united as one having one heart and mind as We (the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are”?
The
silhouette is symbolic of Jesus walking His Bride toward the light for their life in eternity. It also
symbolizes that in the time and space of our life, He walks
with us. He is always by our side. When He ascended He
sent the Holy Spirit in His stead "to be that which a
husband would be if he were here in the flesh but in a
greater dimension).
We
can relate to the modern day marriage and vows, but
through the relationship with Jesus we get a deeper sense
of all that goes with it…to love, cherish and honor, the
nurturing, the intimacy, the forsaking of others and all
that goes with marriage in the natural. Take this to a
highest level your mind can grasp and realize that in this
relationship, the commitment of the groom is never broken,
betrayed or compromised; indeed He will never ever leave
nor forsake us.
Here
we see the hand of Jesus presenting the Holy Spirit to the
bride and groom enabling them to become one with Him and
with each other …becoming one flesh, united and faithful
to one another and to Him.
The single vine seen here relates to John 15:5; “I am the
vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in
him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye
can do nothing”.
Once again, the single vine reiterates the
oneness He has destined between the man and wife.
A man or women when joined will likely bear fruit in their
own likeness; however they must remain joined to the vine
in order to bear Godly fruit. May the fruit that you bear
naturally and spiritually abound. May it always be fresh
and sweet. May your union with Him and all your
relationships be blessed. |
