…Artist Interpretation
One
morning not long after I awoke, I began to think about
The Eyes of Texas from political and personal
perspectives. Texans love their state and their nation.
The eyes represent our hearts, which are as big as the
state itself. The eyes represent those who are involved
politically and those whose eyes watch Texas
prayerfully, continuing to believe that this state and
nation has a bright future ahead. God blessed Texas with
His own hands and here in Texas, we are not singing
Willie’s song, “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”. These
Eyes are staring into a Great Destiny for Texas and the
U.S.
The
overlay (the flag and the eyes are in keeping with the
color scheme of the red, white, and blue). The backdrop
reminded me of the song, “God bless America” as it
describes the mountains, the valleys …from sea to
shining sea. It reminds me of the abundant resources …
naturally, economically and spiritually as depicted
through the luscious green trees and the flowing waters.
Although the shining sun appears to be setting in the
background, the shining favor and grace of God continues
to be upon the great State of Texas and this great
nation.
To
all the travelers that are just passing through!
We say. “Welcome, our eyes will always be upon you!” |

Our confidence should not be solely in the ability of
government, military, or intelligence, but in a loving God
who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.
President Bush has said to the nations of the world, “You
are either for US or against US”. Infinite Justice will
indeed only come through God; it will come upon those who
are the enemies of God, not the perceived enemies of man.
We should determine in our hearts to be God’s friend, and
not His adversary. God is also saying, (paraphrased), “the
line is drawn in the sand, choose you this day whose side
you are on and be not found among the ranks of the evil
doers”. |
