The Threshing Floor
…The Bride

1 Cor
1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world
to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things
of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
How unlikely that –Ruth the
Moabite would be positioned in the lineage of the Messiah.
It seemed unlikely to me
that He would position the threshing floor next to the
Upper Room. Later He began to open the revelation and
bring a parallel to two settings some would consider
diametrically opposed. This He does …that we may know
that His hand has done this and the Holy one of Israel
created this rendering.
Isa
41:19-20 … That men may see and know and consider and
understand together that the hand of the Lord has done
this, that the Holy one of Israel has created it. AMP
As usual, the Lord comes
another way than what we would expect. In the natural,
the threshing floor represents a place of work or labor;
the Upper Room a place of waiting (ceasing from labor). I
know many people like myself where the laboring part is
easier than the waiting part. Ruth did not know how all
the things that Naomi spoke would happen. Her unwavering
obedience and sacrifice to leave her people and follow
Naomi’s God positioned her to reap that which she did not
sow …in the natural and the spiritual.
John
4:38 38 I sent you to reap a crop for which you have not
toiled. Other men have labored and you have stepped in to
reap the results of their work. AMP
Most of us feel like the
wheat on the threshing floor when we try to be still. Our
works mentality fights against the process with everything
that is within us. In Matt 3:12, John said of Jesus, “He
will thoroughly clear out, clean, gather and store His
wheat in the barn. Sounds like He is doing the work.
That means that the wheat must yield in the process. The
chaff in these passages can be compared to the
circumcision of the heart …the burning away of impure
motives. While we are indeed the wheat that is in process
on the threshing floor, we also become the new sharp
threshing instrument in His hands.
We are
His harvest, yet in Isa 41:15 &16, He says, I will make
you to be a new, sharp, threshing instrument …the wind (of
His Spirit) shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall
scatter them. Zech 4:6
Was Isaiah speaking of a
time in the future when the rushing mighty wind of Holy
Spirit would blow through the Upper room and endue them
with power. If we back up to Isa 40:31, once again we see
that word “WAIT”. 'Not by might nor by power, but by My
Spirit,' NKJV
In the upper room …upon the Threshing Floor, we release
His will and purposes in the earth while He releases the
secrets of His heart. As in the days of the
Apostles, we are endued with power. Every incident
of victory, every averting of destruction or devastation
–EVERY TIME the Hand of the Lord was shown forth mightily
it was a result of waiting on the Lord for instructions
and intervention –then following with strict obedience.
As with many other pieces
in the collection, I yielded, not knowing the significant
events that occurred at the “Threshing Floor”. I find it
intriguing that the Lord would choose a Threshing Floor
for His house.
With many strategic
occurrences involving threshing floors we must assume
that there is a pattern or some hidden symbolisms at “The
Threshing Floor”.
…Uzza
was struck dead for touching the Ark of the Covenant.
…David had a visitation, bought a threshing floor and
built an altar
…Solomon built the House of the Lord (2 Chron 3:1 & 1
Chron 22:1).
…Ruth met her kindred Redeemer.
…Jesus used it as an example of the process He would use
to sort His wheat (Matt 3:12)
Does this not infer that
the place of His presence is an altar of sacrifice?
The
Threshing Floor ...where we become bread for the
nations, where we are turned into a threshing instrument
to thresh out the enemy until they are made to be His
footstools.
Within this piece is an
impartation of grace for you to remain at the altar of
sacrifice …on the threshing floor …to yield and wait for
the Lord to do His work in and through you.
See yourself as Ruth after
yielding herself at the threshing floor in submission and
obedience …coming out from that place of divine
appointment …ready to meet her destiny in History –His
Story.
1 Chron 13:10-13
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against
Uzza, and He smote him because he touched the ark;
and there he died before God. [Num 4:15.] And
David was offended because the Lord had broken
forth upon Uzza; that place to this day is called
Perez-uzza [the breaking forth upon Uzza]. And
David was afraid of God that day, and he said, How
can I bring the ark of God home to me? So David
did not bring the ark home to the City of David,
but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom
the Gittite [a Levitical porter born in
Gath-rimmon]. [Josh 21:20,24; 1 Chron 15:24.] AMP
2 Sam 24:17-18 When David saw the angel who was
smiting the people, he spoke to the Lord and said,
Behold, I have sinned and I have done wickedly;
but these sheep, what have they done? Let Your
hand, I pray You, be [only] against me and against
my father's house. Then Gad came to David and
said, Go up, rear an altar to the Lord on the
threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. AMP
2
Chron 3:1 THEN SOLOMON began to build the house of the
Lord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared to
David his father, in the place that David had appointed,
on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite. [1 Chron
21:20-22.] AMP
Ruth
3:13-14 Remain tonight, and in the morning if he will
perform for you the part of a kinsman, good; let him do
it. But if he will not do the part of a kinsman for you,
then, as the Lord lives, I will do the part of a kinsman
for you. Lie down until the morning. And she lay at his
feet until the morning, but arose before one could
recognize another; for he said, Let it not be known that
the woman came to the threshing floor. AMP |
