139:13-18
For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my
mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and
wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my
soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the
lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance,
being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were
written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were
none of them. How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O
God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them,
they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake,
I am still with You. NKJV
Gen 1:1-2
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. 2
The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on
the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering
over the face of the waters. NKJV
When
did creation take on life? Before the heavens and the
earth manifested … natural eyes would have seen nothing
except formlessness and lifelessness. So I ask again, when
did life really begin? At the time of CONCEPTION within
the heart and mind of God
How
comforting to think we were in His thoughts BEFORE we were
formed. What an awesome-beautiful thing. When reading
these passages, many times I would think of the pro-life
posters depicting the fetus. I pondered the poster and the
various passages, which say, “He formed us in the womb”.
“He formed us”, but He requires a vessel to carry the
precious cargo. (Jer 1:5, Isa 44:24, Isa 49:1-2, Gen 1:28)
This
scripture brought to mind children who were conceived out
of wedlock ... some would consider “illegitimate“. If”…God
had concluded that someone was not legitimately valuable,
how could He have had so many thoughts about them? Should
He have removed their existence before He wrote His book
...before He allowed them to be formed in the “Secret
Place”?
I
began sincerely asking God to show me a better way to
illustrate such deep and rich truths in a more intimate
way. I continued thinking ... how can we understand and
apprehend spiritual concepts. The word says that natural
man cannot understand spiritual things. Let’s bring it
into the natural so we can attempt to wrap our minds
around the concept.
Secret
Place? Strangers usually cannot see or know what is done
“in secret”, but God is not a stranger, after all He
created us …we were predestined before the worlds were
framed.
Thine
eyes did see mine unformed substance; and in thy book
they were all written, (even) the days that were
ordained (for me), when as yet there was none of them.
Ps 139:16 ASV
The
depths of the earth are dark; the process in the womb is
not visible …How can He see into the darkness? How can He
see into the depths? How could His see the unformed
substance. Gen 1:1-2
I
collect seashells, which helped the image gel in my mind’s
eye. I began thinking about an oyster in the depths of a
sea of darkness. And the spirit of God was hovering over
the face of the waters… Gen 1:2 NKJV. I could see that the
Lord where he was taking this. The oyster resides in the
depths and become the womb for a pearl. The depths of the
earth are symbolic of the womb –the sand symbolic of a
child –to some a simple irritation. All of creation was
made to embrace life and cooperate with the process to
bring forth that for which it was purposed.
With
my spiritual eyes, I began to see a child, “a pearl of
great price”. The process that a pearl goes through is
similar to the forming of a baby. The pearl begins as when
an intruder works its way inside the oyster shell. That
which is seemingly a source of irritation becomes
something extraordinarily beautiful. Matt 13:45-46
Where
the pearl reflected light, I began to see a dove hovering
over a fetus. Darkness can never be dark if God sees
Himself in the creation.
See
with me, that God intended His Image to be seen and
reflected through everything that He created. See with me,
how God always sees light around you even in what seems to
be your darkest hour. See that each of us was created to
embrace the life that is within us.
Come
up and see from God’s perspective …He knows all about us.
Our days have been written in His Book. He knows even the
words that have not yet been uttered from your mouth. We
should not judge the value of that which God had put so
much thought into ...that were we to count the thoughts,
they would outnumber the grains of sand!
Gen
1:28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them,” Be
fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have
dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the
air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth”.
NKJV
Matt
13:45-46 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant
seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one
pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and
bought it. NKJV
Jer 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you
were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to
the nations." NKJV
Isa
44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, And He who formed
you from the womb”: I am the LORD, who makes all things,
Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads
abroad the earth by Myself; NKJV
Isa
49:1-2 LISTEN TO me, O isles and coastlands, and hearken,
you peoples from afar. The Lord has called me from the
womb; from the body of my mother He has named my name. And
He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of
His hand, has He hid me and made me a polished arrow; in
His quiver, has He kept me close and concealed me. AMP |
