Power and Dominion …the Chronicle

One night soon after I went to bed ...before I went into a deep sleep, I saw the entire rendering with the exception of the lightening. This was one of those times when I did not know the specific scriptures references or direction that the Lord would take it. I just knew how it was to feel and what it was to impart. The hand and sword striking the earth was provided by my friend Audrey Jones (another artist).  She felt that the Lord would give me revelation on what to do with it.

I simply sat down the next morning and began creating it just as I had seen it. I was thoroughly surprised when I so readily found scriptures (listed below) that perfectly described the rendering including the lightening that I added.

The Angel of the Lord is poised to protect those in the strong tower of the Lord God’s people as He brings destruction and vengeance to His enemies.

I could immediately feel the multifaceted implications that were being conveyed. I could see that the Word of the Lord was a two-edged sword; piercing even to the dividing asunder …a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Heb 4:12 KJV). Within the Word are the scales (the weights and balances). As good and evil are positioned on either side of the scale of justice; so it is with the sword. The Good and Evil inhabitants of the earth  must prepare themselves to receive the unbiased justice that is due them in light of the Word Of God.

Those who belong to Him welcome the "dealings" of the Lord; regardless of whether it comes with flashes of lightening and flames of fire or a still small voice. He sends forth His Glory throughout the earth… it brings protection, correction, and conviction to His own. For those who stand with the powers of darkness the same sword brings destruction.

A few days after the rendering was complete, I received an email from someone who had had a dream where God’s people were running into a castle for protection. I am sorry to say that I cannot remember who it was.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. (Prov 18:10 KJV)
