He Feeds Among The Lilies …
Witnesses Collection .Chronicle by Glenda Wilson
Song
6:2-3 [She replied] My beloved has gone down to his
garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens and
to gather lilies I am my beloved's [garden] and my
beloved is mine! He feeds among the lilies [which grow
there].AMP
I realize that these
passages speak of a garden, probably one on land because
it mentions beds of spices. However, I took advantage of
what they call “artist license”. When I thought of Him
feeding among the lilies, I began to see water lilies and
the vision expanded from there. I beheld the fragrance and
beauty of the Lord upon them. We are His lilies …that
beauty and fragrance should be the WITNESS that attracts
the souls and beckons them to come into the kingdom. This
piece has a very strong anointing and is passive enough in
its presentation to use as an evangelistic tool in
settings where people are not necessarily open to the
Gospel.
The water lilies are resting in and upon the water of the
Spirit for they were created to thrive and survive there.
Consider how the lilies grow …they neither labor nor spin.
Consider how He has clothed them and provided for them.
See the fish, which is symbolic of souls being drawn and
hiding in the presence of the Lord that is upon the
Lilies. Jesus said that we would be fishers of men.
“Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was
dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the
grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is
thrown into the fire, how much more will be clothe you, O
you of little faith. And do not set your heart on what you
will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan
world runs after all such things, and your Father knows
that you need them. But seek his Kingdom, and these things
will be give to you as well.” Luke 12:27-31
..
Let the earth hear the words of my mouth. May my
teaching(s)) drop like the rain, my speech condense like
the dew; like gentle rain on grass like showers on NEW
GROWTH. (Deu 32:1-2 NRSV)
Throughout
history, butterflies—have been admired for their delicate
beauty. They have a prominent place in art and literature
as symbols of freedom, creativity, and the beauty of
nature. The butterfly is responsible for pollinating and
preparing the lily for fertilization.
The lilies
are laden with the residue of a visitation of the Lord
…the dew, or drops of the gentle rain that God Himself has
showered down upon them through His Word. Obviously, in
this rendering the butterfly is the Lord feeding among His
lilies. See yourself as the one He has chosen …the one
upon which He is visiting and feeding daily. Here the Lord
is visiting His precious one preparing her to be fertile
and productive in the purpose for which He has chosen for
her. The picture here is that the lilies are abiding or
resting according to the words of Jesus, “abide in me and
you shall bear much fruit”.
John
15:7-8 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye
shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so
shall ye be my disciples. KJV
