I don’t remember
exactly what was going when I first heard Paul Wilbur’s song, "Dance with
me”. I know that it seemed to be winter in my soul. I needed to hear
that winter is past and springtime has come. Many times, we allow “the
feelings” of the soulish realm to override spiritual realities. In the
spirit, winter is indeed past for springtime (Jesus) has come.
Song
2:10-11 My beloved spoke, and said to me:” Rise up, my love, my fair one,
and come away. For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.
NKJV
Dance with me oh Lover of my soul to the song of all songs. Come and
sing oh lover of my soul to the song of all songs. Lord you have come
over the hills upon the mountains. To me you have come, my beloved
-captured my heart. Dance with me oh lover of my soul to the song of all
songs. With you I will go. You are my love. You are my fair one.
Winter has past and the springtime has come. Take my hand oh lover of my
soul- sing the song of all songs. Come and take us to yourself oh lord,
sing the song of all songs. You I adore you are my love you are my fair
one winter has past and the springtime has come. (partial words to the
song sung by Paul Wilbur)
I began to see
myself dancing with “the Lover of my soul”. As I was dancing, nothing
seemed to matter. In His presence, all inhibitions …all inabilities melt
away. My focus was entirely on Him –His love piercing to the depths of
my being. There were no shadows of grey, I was clearly His, and He was
mine –like there was no one else in the world.
Song 2:16-17 My beloved is mine,
and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. Until the day break and the
shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young
hart upon the mountains of Bether (literally separation). KJV
Song of Solomon
has become precious to me. It has inspired two other pieces of art. -
Come Away My Love and He Feeds Among The Lilies. In Song of Solomon, her
beloved beckons to come away with Him. In the distance, of the piece
Come Away My Love, we see a castle – a hideaway – He wants to take her to
that secret place. Inside I began to picture a grand ballroom that was
set aside for the two of them – The Bride and the Groom. Here we see the
Bride in that ballroom.
Although the song has the bride-singing, dance with me, as I was working
on this piece I heard the Lord say, “Come Dance with Me. Let me impart
to you, let me heal you. Come bask in my embrace. Let me dance with you
in purpose and destiny …throughout eternity.
Even as I was doing His will and purpose
through the writing and art -I was focused on Him and indeed "we were
dancing in purpose".
May this piece
take you there? See yourself dancing with Him. Go to the ballroom –to
the place set aside just for the two of you. Answer His invitation,
“come away with Me, My beloved. Enter into the intimacy, experience the
springtime that has come through Christ.
